Here is my group and I working. |
We chose the main theme and idea of our chalk drawing to be the earth. It symbolizes travel and seeing the world. I chose my main symbol to be an elephant because not only do I love elephants and my grandmother loves them, they symbolize strength. I have been through quite an abundance of things in my life already to make me be strong. I also just very much admire elephants, and I enjoy to buy clothing from a brand called Ivory Ella that gives some of their proceeds to save the elephants.
This is all of the groups coming up with their plans. |
We chose a very particular layout for our design, we made the main theme be the world but we set up all of our individual designs to represent places around the world, making it look like an actual globe. My elephant was Africa, an ant was Asia and another ant was America and Canada.
Another girl in my group had ballet shoes that represented Mexico, and there was another gentleman in my group that drew this beautiful design that represented South America. I feel like this lay out really let all of us combine our ideas without completely losing the individuality of this project. Overall I feel like this project was a success! If I could go back and redo it the only thing I would do differently is to chose a less complex design because with chalk you lose the preciseness that you would have with a finer tip, and with chalk on cement it is quite difficult to put in those small details.
